How the hell are all these skiers and snowboarders filming their footage? It seems absolutely nuts that people are out in the cold and skiing all while casually capturing video footage. It’s actually a great question. One of the common vantage points is from a fast follower skiing / boarding behind the person being filmed. You might think this results in shaky footage, but the results are surprisingly good. There’s also what we’ve come to think of as a signature Coach’s Eye visual–a shadow holding a smartphone / tablet trailing behind an outstanding athlete. We’ve come to think of it as an “eyelight.” Here’s a great example of a snowboarder eyelight that showed up in the Latest videos feed this morning.
